AEG

The General Railway Act (AEG) regulates the safe operation of the railway in Germany and aims to provide an attractive rail transport service.

Railway Construction and Operating Regulations

EBO

The EBO (German Railway Construction and Operating Regulations) governs the requirements for railway infrastructure and vehicles, as well as for railway operations and personnel. It applies to all public railways in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Railway signaling regulations

ESO

The Railway Signalling Regulations apply to public railways within the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. They are binding for all public railways in the Federal Republic of Germany and prescribe the appearance and use of the railway signals employed therein.

Regulation on the construction and operation of connecting railways

BOA

This regulation applies to all connecting railways. Connecting tracks are connecting railways within the meaning of this regulation.

Guidelines for non-federal railways

ObRi- NE

The Ob-Ri NE (General Operating Regulations for Non-Federal Railways) are, in part – insofar as the specific characteristics of railway operations or the objectives of the companies suggest and permit this – geared towards the special needs of non-federal railways compared to other construction engineering regulations. The Ob-Ri NE therefore do not preclude the application of other recognized engineering standards.
