My personal statement

With a passion for the railway – My path as a trainer and expert in track switch technology

I have been working in the railway industry for over 22 years – a world full of technology, precision and responsibility.

Even as a child I was fascinated by railways and technology, and it was clear that the railway would be my future.

My journey began in signaling and safety technology; I repaired signal boxes, maintained level crossings, and serviced signals. Later, I discovered my true passion in turnout technology, which goes far beyond mere maintenance. Track superstructure also became an integral part of my expertise.

2016 marked the beginning of a new phase: I became an instructor for the construction and maintenance of railway switches.

Since then, I have had the privilege of training hundreds of skilled workers, from Deutsche Bahn and Siemens to smaller companies.

As a former expert trainer and team leader at DB Netz AG, I have held many positions within the company and am always up-to-date with the latest industry developments. I actively participate in shaping change, because the railway industry never stands still.

In 2018 I took the plunge into self-employment.

With Weichentraining Horn, I am building my own company and supporting the entire industry as a trainer.

Many educational institutions rely on my knowledge to offer tailor-made courses on the topic of switches.

Industrial, port and private railways also benefit from my specialist training courses to efficiently save time and money.

But for me, training in switch technology is far more than just work – it's my passion!
